    Hamptworth Estate
    Hamptworth Estate
Langley Wood House is the Dower House of the magnificent 3,000 acre Hamptworth Estate. Situated on the northern edge of the New Forest National Park and originally dating from 1750, the house is surrounded by the Langley Wood National Nature Reserve, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest to which there is direct access from the formal gardens.

The house has been in the Anderson family for 200 years. Your hosts, Guy and Justine have young children and their two dogs compliment the team.

Internally the house boasts a beautiful wood panelled hall leading to the Drawing Room, Library and Dining Room, all of which retain the Edwardian character.

The bedrooms all have immaculate en-suite bath or shower rooms with the choice of superking, king, double or twin beds, beautifully furnished whilst providing all the modern touches one would expect. A ground floor bedroom is available for disabled or elderly guests.

Whilst we do not have specific family rooms, babies, toddlers and children are most welcome.

Wi fi is available and there is ample parking, with the additional use of kennels if required. Please note, however, that deer roam freely in the garden and surrounding woodland and therefore dogs require supervision when outside !

On arrival at Langley Wood, tea is served in the Drawing Room or on the terrace, weather permitting.

A breakfast of cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast and homemade preserves, coffee/tea and juices is followed by a hearty cooked breakfast which is sourced locally. Breakfast may also be taken on the terrace during the summer months.

    The Hamptworth Estate includes a

    Championship Golf course

wonderful woodland walks, country sport opportunities and many regular events such as open air plays, opera evenings, plant fairs and country shows.

    Hamptworth provides...

    ...a stunning location for your

    wedding ceremony and reception

Hidden away on the northern edge of the New Forest National Park, yet so easily accessible from London and more locally Southampton and Salisbury, the house exudes such a warmth and friendliness that is hard to find these days in a house of this size.

Three rooms within the house are licensed for civil ceremonies, the largest of which is able to accommodate 120 guests. Externally, the Summer House in the stunning gardens is also licensed for civil ceremonies. A marriage ceremony may take place within this three sided structure with attending guests seated along the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens.

100 guests can be accommodated for a wedding breakfast in The Great Hall of the house. With its vaulted beamed ceiling and magnificent organ – the twin of that in Salisbury Cathedral – you couldn’t ask for a more unique and memorable venue. Smaller parties might appreciate the refined and more intimate atmosphere of the dining room.

We are also able to offer the beautiful gardens of Hamptworth as a space for an exclusive marquee reception. Guests may wish to utilise the house for a civil ceremony and then move across to the marquee for the remainder of the day.
